Mission Statement

 

The Pratiman-Neema Memorial Foundation (PNMF) is a non-profit organization that was established on April 5, 2003 for the purpose of enhancing the general welfare of the people and the communities in the district of Pyuthan. The Foundation hopes to use Pratiman\u2019s legacy to inspire a sense of self-less act of social work, voluntarism, and the giving among those who love, respect, and admire him. Beyond Puythan, it also envisions making contributions in general to socio-economic issues including education, health, and good governance. These inspiring words sum up this man\u2019s vision and passion.

 

On self-reliance, local resources, and volunteerism:

“Believe in yourself and your fellow citizens.”
“Even mountains can\u2019t stand in the way of a determined community.”
“Rely on your local resources.”

 

On devolution and decentralization:
“Regional neglect may lead to isolation \u2026 may lead to resentment.”
“Expand the definition of Nepal beyond the capital of Kathmandu and decentralize and devolve.”

 

On democracy:
“People should be the first in line to reap the fruits of democracy.”

Objectives

 

The Foundation is dedicated to launch welfare-oriented projects. It encourages a sense of community among those who love and respect his legacy, and invites new friends to join hands in this noble cause. Its objective is to create funds for educational advancement through scholarship and proposal writing. The Foundation promotes self-sustainable development work, and will work towards promoting the idea of good governance through seminars and workshops. Other ideas like the preservation of local culture and heritage of the Pyuthan area will also be undertaken. Beyond Pyuthan, the Foundation takes a national approach.
