Welcome to Pratiman Neema Foundation

The Pratiman-Neema Memorial Foundation (PNMF) is a non-profit organization that was established on April 5, 2003 for the purpose of enhancing the general welfare of the people and the communities in the district of Pyuthan. The Foundation hopes to use Pratiman’s legacy to inspire a sense of self-less act of social work, voluntarism, and the giving among those who love, respect, and admire him. Beyond Puythan, it also envisions making contributions in general to socio-economic issues including education, health, and good governance. These inspiring words sum up this man’s vision and passion.

On self-reliance, local resources, and volunteerism:
“Believe in yourself and your fellow citizens.”
“Even mountains can’t stand in the way of a determined community.”
“Rely on your local resources.”

On devolution and decentralization:
“Regional neglect may lead to isolation … may lead to resentment.”
“Expand the definition of Nepal beyond the capital of Kathmandu and decentralize and devolve.”

On democracy:
“People should be the first in line to reap the fruits of democracy.”

Late Governor of Pyuthan Pratiman Chand Bohara, 1950
